ALBANY, N.Y. – “Governor Cuomo put forth a strong plan in his 2020 State of the State Address that will positively impact the lives of Ulster County’s 180,000 residents. I am particularly excited about the Governor’s commitment to the environment with his proposed $3 billion 'Restore Mother Nature' bond act, and his dedication to making New York more affordable with a small business and middle-income tax cut.

Helping tackle the opioid epidemic by banning fentanyl analogs and expanding medically assisted treatments, keeping our families and neighbors safe with smart new gun safety provisions, and preserving open space throughout the Hudson Valley and in Kingston while expanding our own Minnewaska State Park Preserve will all have direct positive impacts for all of Ulster County.

While there are certainly hurdles ahead with the budget deficit and difficult policy choices, the Governor’s address was filled with vital proposals that will drive Ulster County and New York forward. I look forward to continuing to work with the Governor and our partners in Albany to make these proposals a reality.”
