Kingston, NY – Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan announced the opening of a new vaccination site located at the Kingston Plaza. As Ulster County continues to see a rise in positive cases due to the Delta variant, this location will offer residents the safest and quickest way to combat the virus by getting vaccinated.
“With the national rise in cases due to the Delta variant, Ulster County is redoubling our efforts to make vaccines accessible,” County Executive Pat Ryan said. “As the summer comes to a close, it is essential that everyone gets vaccinated. Vaccines are safe, effective, and provide our best ability as a community to stay healthy and bring back a sense of normalcy.”
The new location, between Savonna’s Pizza and Scanlon Cleaners, at 304 Plaza Road #25, Kingston, NY, will open this Friday, August 20th from 2PM to 7PM and continue to be open every Friday. Appointments can be made at VaccinateUlster.com and walk-ins will be accepted.
Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are available on-site for first and second doses. The Pfizer vaccine is approved for people ages 12+. For anyone under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany and give consent for vaccination. Documentation is not required. Any necessary forms will be available at the POD in English and in Spanish, and a Spanish interpreter will also be on site.
Last week, County Executive Pat Ryan announced that the Ulster County Department of Health has released guidelines for the safe reopening of schools during the upcoming school year. In a series of guidelines from Ulster County Health Commissioner Dr. Carol Smith, Ulster County recommended the return to five-days-a-week, full-time in-person learning and that all individuals (faculty, staff, students, and contractors) should be required to wear masks at all times inside school buildings regardless of vaccination status.
