STOP-DWI Impaired Driving Crackdown Runs Through September 3, 2018

Kingston, NY - Ulster County Executive Mike Hein announces that Ulster County police agencies are participating in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving.  The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts will continue through the Labor Day Weekend, ending on September 3rd.

The New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and municipal law enforcement agencies are collaborating across the State and are out in force in this coordinated effort to reduce the number of impaired related injuries and deaths related to impaired driving.

“I want everyone to have a happy and safe Labor Day holiday and to celebrate responsibly,” said County Executive Mike Hein, “so I urge everyone heading out this holiday weekend to plan ahead and appoint a designated driver if necessary or arrange for alternative transportation like ridesharing or taxis. I would like to thank all of the county, state and local law enforcement agencies who are helping to stop impaired driving and saving lives by participating in this statewide STOP-DWI crackdown.”

The STOP-DWI Labor Day Weekend Crackdown is one of many statewide enforcement initiatives promoted by the New York State STOP-DWI Association with additional funding from our STOP-DWI Foundation and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Throughout the remainder of the year the Statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown Campaign will also target Halloween and the national Holiday Season in December.
