Local Developers are Invited to Create Mobile Apps to Serve the Community
Kingston, NY – County Executive Mike Hein invites Ulster County’s tech companies to participate in the AT&T Tech Valley Civic App Challenge happening right now. The Challenge is a two-month “virtual hackathon” in which innovative thinkers, designers, artists, developers and entrepreneurs are encouraged to “Solve Local” by building intuitive and novel smartphone apps that address the societal and civic issues in the greater Tech Valley (Hudson Valley and Capital District) community. “Ulster County is home to an incredible number of talented and innovative technology professionals,” said County Executive Hein. “As our society evolves, governments are using more technologies to remain responsive. I look forward to seeing the apps which are created and applaud the Challenge for highlighting our community.”
County Executive Hein continued, “I applaud Kale Kaposhilin and the Hudson Valley Tech Meetup for creating a forum for our local technology community and I am happy to announce that the Ulster County Economic Development Alliance will be sponsoring this important organization’s meetups in Ulster County.”
Hudson Valley Tech Meetup is a local partner in the AT&T challenge. The challenge, facilitated by Hack Upstate, was announced in front of more than 200 regional technologists and entrepreneurs, and will run until May 1.
